Hello, Crafters!
Having trouble coming up with an Easter themed craft? You’ve come to the right place!
It’s easy to get caught up with all the egg hunts, egg dyeing, and decorations and forget the deeper meaning of Easter. Today, we will be doing a craft that brings into focus the reason we celebrate Easter: Jesus dying on the cross for our sins so that we could one day live with Him.
Craft level: Beginner
What you will need:
o Card stock paper (any color)
o Scissors
o Colorful tissue paper
o Clear duct tape or contact paper (or regular tape works fine)

Instructions:
First, you will draw or trace a cross shape on your card stock. I just used Pinterest and downloaded a cross shape that I liked. Make it as large as your paper allows so that more light can shine through it. I used a ruler and added a border to the shape I traced, but if you find an easier way to cut it out, feel free to just use this idea as a reference! (For younger crafters, use kids safety scissors or have their teacher cut it out for them.) Now, you have a hollowed-out version of your cross! This is what will make it look like a window.
(For a more simple version, you can cut out a cross shape from the paper and just use the whole paper as your foundation for the tissue paper window.)
Take the tape or contact paper and tape one side of the cross, leaving the sticky side on the top. Using contact paper would be easier for this step because you can just lay your paper cross on top and cut off the excess. Another tip is to use some sort of non-stick surface such as wax paper and tape onto that so you can easily take it off.
The tissue paper can be cut with scissors or torn into little pieces. Pick out many different colors so the stained-glass effect really shines through. The tissue paper can now be placed on the sticky side to create the stained-glass effect. Make sure to completely cover the sticky parts so that none is left to get stuck on things.
Alternate version:
You may also use wax paper and a glue stick if you do not have access to tape or contact paper.
For best results, tape or hang your cross in a window that is well-lit by the sun!
This craft can be used for a Sunday School lesson, VBS, or just having fun at home! I hope these instructions and ideas were helpful for you. If not, tell me how I can do better at heartfelt.tales23@gmail.com. Happy Crafting!!
